Key activities/ accountabilities SAFETY, HEALTH & ENVIRONMENT 1 Carry out assigned tasks and duties in a safe manner, in accordance with instructions and in compliance with safety rules, procedures, regulations and codes of practice. 2 Report all events (personal injuries, equipment damage, environmental, security etc.) to your Line Manager and regularly raise proactive observations to help reduce the risk of an unsafe situation occurring. 3 Drive improvements in Process Safety across the site. Lead investigations into incidents /accidents. 4 Competent to develop and review risk assessments and method statements. 5 Ensure Contractors carrying our maintenance work on the gas storage assets are suitable qualified, competent and experienced to carry out their duties in a safe and compliant manner. C&I EXPERTISE 1 Support to the O&M Team in areas of C&I Engineering. 2 Provide C&I expertise to the site. In conjunction with the O&M Team, lead on defining the maintenance requirement of C&I equipment on site, considering cost criticality and safety to ensure operational compliance and efficiencies are maintained. 3 Act as single point of contact for site modification (MoC) involving Control & Instrumentation, in particular the Automated System Modification processes, and be Technical Safety Assessment leader when required. 4 Support the Operational Team for the project handovers, with a specific focus on control systems and acceptance criteria. 5 Prepare engineering requirements for C&I projects, and challenge contractor generated proposals (SIL levels, instrumentation philosophy) 6 Deliver operational based continuous improvement and obsolescence C&I improvements that minimise downtime / maximise plant availability and gas plant reliability. 7 Site authority on functional safety in accordance with IEC61508 and IEC61511 8 Leads HSE COMAH intervention visits on EC&I topics. PROCESS SAFETY 1 Prepares functional analysis (safety critical control systems, ESD, F&G) for the site, and when required is able to present this to external parties (HSE) or internal audit. Act as single point of contact for any C&I specific auditing. 2 Keep C&I documentation up to date and accurate (Loop diagrams, P&IDs, F&G system arrangement and philosophy, Alarm schedule, Cause & Effects charts, DCS maintenance records and reported issues) 3 Own the SIS management system (SIF loop maintenance, ESD / PSD maintenance) and critical process functionality on the gas plant (ESD1). PROCESS CONTROL SYSTEMS (DCS) 1 Act as single point of contact for process control system improvements involving DCS modifications. Generate specifications and implement modifications (programming, testing, commissioning) for continuous improvement related activities. 2 Working collaboratively with IT, ensure that the DCS and other control systems (PC / PLC) are up to date with regards to cyber security protection and other identified potential risks. 3 Define and manage DCS access authorisation for a set of identified persons (visual / operations / maintenance / engineering). PROCURMENT & CONTRACT MANAGEMENT 1 Responsible for preparation of scopes of work for tendering purposes, drafting single source justifications, managing C&I spares, procurement of C&I spares and receipting of invoices in a timely manner. 2 Responsible for preparation of scopes of work for third party contractors, managing contractors whilst on site and receipting of invoices in a timely manner. 3 C&I maintenance contracts specification and setup. Prepares the technical documentation for instrumentation, systems requisition and performs the technical evaluations as and when required. 4 Contract Manager for MAN Turbo and ABB contracts for C1 and C4 gas compressors. Main point of contact and maintains relationships and plans all work. GENERAL 1 Ensure that all procedures are complied with, and all actions are auditable while also maintaining the highest personal, professional and ethical standards. 2 Adhere to internal policies and procedures: Instructions, Technical Notes, and Handbook and adhere to external regulations: Employment Law, local requirements. 3 Implement the requirements of the Stublach Management System associated with documentation control for the Maintenance Team. 4 Ensure maintenance policies are implemented across all the gas storage assets, including asset integrity management. Support Continuous Improvement Programmes. Skills/ Experience required to perform role 1 Job holder must have an overall awareness of safe systems of work having worked in an operational environment. 2 Ideally a minimum 5 years experience in operations/ maintenance of processing plants/ equipment, preferably within the oil and gas industry/top Tier COMAH industry 3 Takes initiative in problem solving and volunteers solutions. 4 Communicates with colleagues and Line Managers and shares information. 5 Communicates with external parties to ensure smooth and safe functioning of activities. 6 Identifies best practice (internally and externally) to deliver continuous improvement actions. 7 Seeks regular feedback from all sources in order to drive through safety and operational improvements. 8 Adopts a consistent approach, checks the quality of work and meets deadlines 9 Takes accountability for all EC& I activities on site: corrective maintenance, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement. Owns problems and finds solutions to drive problem resolution. Relevant Education 1 Bachelor s degree or equivalent in and engineering subject, ideally control and instrumentation. 2 Experience of ABB 800XA DCS preferred but not essential. 3 NEBOSH Certificate would be an advantage 4 Strong technical maintenance/operations background. 5 Functional safety training, such as TUV would be an advantage 6 Recognised process safety training would be an advantage 7 5 years operational site experience, ideally with a major accident hazard business; oil, gas, chemicals, power etc. Personal Attributes 1 A high level of personal resilience and persistence 2 Can-do attitude, leading by example to ensure maintenance and operational tasks are delivered in the safest quickest way possible.
