Production Operator (Shift Work) Permanent contract with full time hours. Hydro Aluminium Deeside is based on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, producing up to 63,000 tonnes of high-quality extrusion ingots (billets) per year, recycling a mix of end-of-life scrap and process scrap. The Package and Hours of Work As a Production Operator, you will benefit from: A starting salary of £28,080 Potential to earn a bonus Contributory pension scheme, with company contribution of 5% rising to 10% with length of service Life insurance (4 times salary) Private medical insurance Healthcare cash plan Critical illness insurance Payroll savings scheme Cycle to work scheme Tech scheme Contribution towards eye tests, frames and fully paid for lenses Full PPE (outerwear laundered) You ll be working at our site on Wrexham Industrial Estate in North Wales, and will be employed on a permanent contract with full time hours The working pattern is 2 x 12-hour days (7am to 7pm), followed by 2 x 12-hour nights (7pm to 7am) then 4 days off, and this pattern repeats continuously. You will need to be able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends. The Role - Production Operator As a Production Operator, you will be one of only six colleagues on a shift. Your work will be varied, requiring flexibility and a willingness to get involved in a range of tasks. Accuracy is essential to ensure that production requirements and standards are met consistently, making every effort to increase productivity and efficiency without compromising safety or quality. Your duties will include, although will not be limited to: Driving a range of vehicles (FLT, side-loader, load shovels), for which training will be given, but an FLT license is preferred as a starting point Operating a range of machinery, including overhead cranes Working cooperatively within the Production Team to meet goals, following all written and verbal instructions, and demonstrating a positive and professional attitude Maintaining a safe and clean work area, observing all safety guidelines and reporting safety concerns to management Regular use of computers, including Microsoft Office and manufacturing systems Health & Safety and quality are the top priorities at this plant with housekeeping close behind as we believe it contributes to a safe workplace. After becoming a competent Production Operator there may be opportunities to learn an additional skill which, when complete, will bring with it an increased salary.
