Long-established company and provider of industrial metal finishes. Providing a unique service specialising in powder coating, cathodic electro painting, zinc rich coating, dip spin and phosphate and oil coatings for over 100 years. They are currently seeking a Plant & Maintenance Technician Engineer to help continue the operation of the business and its development, liaising with the Factory Manager. Commutable from: Worcester, Warwick, Solihull, Bromsgrove, Halesowen Salary: £11 - £15 PH (Days) Mon Fri + Required weekend overtime The Role Responsible for the day to day practical maintenance of our production plant and machinery alongside maintaining control of the chemical parameters of our processing tanks to ensure quality of finish is achieved consistently to specification. Opening and ensuring plant and machinery is ready for operation at the start of each week and/or closing down the factory machinery and locking up (dependant on work timings) Undertaking of all in-house tasks of the planned, preventative and reactive maintenance schedules for our production plant and machinery and organising of external contractors for other aspects as directed Examples of regular daily in-house tasks include cleaning, greasing, visual and manual checking operations and planned and reactive tasks include the changing of filters, membranes, pumps etc Assisting in the development of the ongoing daily, weekly, monthly, bi-annual and annual maintenance schedules Efficiently providing a quick response to any breakdowns during working hours Attending site to respond to a breakdown out of hours (as quickly as possible) for all plant and maintenance issues, such as paint pump failure Responsible for daily titration testing of the chemical strengths of all processing tanks as defined in the various chemical test sheets Maintaining control of chemical parameters in all tanks to ensure that they are kept within the prescribed limits Responsible for identifying and reporting any test results which fall outside required parameters to the Production Manager immediately Daily replenishment of chemicals to tanks as prescribed following test results Conducting paint thickness checks and inspections Conducting salt spray corrosion testing Responsible for undertaking chemical stock checks on a weekly basis and ensuring the effectiveness of communicating re-ordering of stock on time Conducting monthly stock checks of powder, paint, chemicals and required consumables Undertaking of remedial & general maintenance works to building and facilities (i.e. painting, basic plumbing, mending & fixing) Part of the first response team responsible for dealing with emergencies such as fire or chemical spillage safely (as per our emergency action plan) and with priority to minimise any environmental impact The Person A successful applicant will have relevant experience in a mechanical background, they will be able to understand and comply with all health and safety procedures. Demonstrate full understanding of COSHH requirements within our environment. The successful Engineer must also hold a driving license and current counterbalance FLT certificate.
