WHAT TO EXPECT

Jaguar Land Rover are pleased to announce an opportunity to work at their Coventry base as a Lead Engineer for Electric Drive Unit Noise Vibration Harness Computer Aided Engineering. This presents someone with the chance to focus on the component / system delivery of the NVH attribute for electric propulsion with the Powertrain CAE NVH team.

In addition, the successful person will act as the lead engineer for delivering the analysis results to support Virtual Series deliverables, and the resolution of NVH issues throughout the program (from concept through to production).

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

Support the concept and design specification of Electric Drive Unit commodities using a variety of specific CAE tools and processes.
Preparing and running CAE models, post processing of results using commercial & proprietary software.
Adherence to System Design Specification and Corporate Requirements.
Delivering the NVH attribute of Electric Drive Unit commodities in line with PCDS requirements.
Developing and communicating NVH solutions to the Design, Integration and Development teams.
Writing Technical Reports.
Develop models throughout programme and demonstrate correlation through validation programme. Support the development and documentation of CAE working practices and standards, lessons learned and prevent reoccurrence.
Component and system engineers within the main EDU Design & Release teams
Technical leadership for programme teams
System Technical Specialists & System Subject Matter Expert's
Interfacing with all integration programme customers with respect to delivery metrics

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

Essential:

Educated to a minimum of Degree level, and fundamental knowledge of power unit systems and in particular Electric Drive Unit commodities
Excellent understanding of solid mechanics and the dynamic behaviour of structures
Good knowledge of NVH assessment techniques
Experience of linear static / dynamic / forced frequency and non-linear finite element analysis, ability to generate shell/ solid meshes, and apply boundary conditions, using JLR tools (HyperMesh, Simlab, Abaqus CAE, 3DExperience).
Experience and knowledge of optimisation techniques (Topology / Shape) using commercial optimisers (e.g. Optistruct / Tosca).

Desirable:
Proven track record and experience of Power Unit NVH delivery / method development within an OEM.
