Role: Intelligence Officer Location: Turrock- Grays Contract: 6 months + Skills and experience required: Must hold SC clearance and have Previous experience working as an intelligence officer or analyst. Job Purpose To provide high level analytical and actionable intelligence to support operational criminal investigators to assist in the prevention, targeting, disruption and detection of crime. Use analytical techniques to create intelligence products to inform relevant strategic and tactical planning to the standard defined within the National Intelligence Model, utilising partner agencies to prevent crime and corruption. Provide an efficient and effective service to managerial, operational and investigative decision making and identify weaknesses in existing policy and procedures. Training of staff in relation to fraud and corruption offences Key service accountabilities: 1. Work within all legal frameworks, key working principles, policies and guidance to ensure information and intelligence is handled and processed legally 2. Analyse a wide range of data from a variety of sources for sensitive and complex investigations in respect of incidents affecting the public sector. 3. Collate and validate intelligence, evaluating the credibility of information. 4. Analyse the activities of individuals, groups and organisations through the application of recognised analytical techniques and methodology. 5. Evaluate the significance of patterns and trends. 6. Provide advice, guidance and immediate professional support to colleagues. 7. Present the results of analysis in the appropriate format and produce a report to accompany analytical products. 8. Analyse information to identify how the criminal groups operate individually and within a network. Include subject's lifestyle, technical expertise, systems and procedures employed and how they select their victims. 9. Ascertain the significance of the problem or subject and provide an understanding of the strengths, weaknesses, scale and seriousness of the threat posed. Corporate accountabilities: 1. To work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets 2. To comply with data protection legislation and the council's Information Security Policy, including supporting policies 3. To be willing and able to work in a flexible and agile way with regard both to hours of work and location of work, including remote and home working, as required, subject to service needs and requirements
