Job Type: Full Time, Minimum of 40 hours per week

Location: Somerset

Salary: £27,500 per annum

Our client is one of the most successful first-class county cricket clubs of the past 10 years. Deeply rooted in their community since 1875, with a rich reputation for developing talent from across the region. Yet their vision stretches far beyond the local: they have global reach, with circa 900,000 social media followers from around the world and bold ambitions for success on the international field.

The clubs' enviable facilities compliment the outstanding commercial opportunities their sporting profile presents. They are a 365-day venue: alongside hosting 50 days of cricket each year, they deliver numerous non-cricket related events, conferences, concerts and weddings, to name a few, with the determination to make their ground the primary sporting and business destination in the south-west.

They're entering an exciting time at SCCC - the Covid-19 pandemic has required us to review their strategy and develop future plans to take the Club to new heights on and off the field. They are in a strong position to grow and achieve their ambitious goals which have 'cricket at the heart and business on the mind'.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join the successful Commercial Team at the Cricket Club in the role of Hospitality, Meeting and Events Executive. In this role, your main aim is to identify, plan and deliver on creative opportunities for meetings, events and functions and to drive income from such events.

Some, but certainly not all, of the areas you will be working on include making outbound lead generation calls to potential customers, hosting innovative venue show-rounds and events, pro-active account management with existing customers to grow revenue, oversee the hospitality areas to ensure clients receive the service they expect, attend networking events and exhibitions to promote the clubs' services and venue and much more. No two days are the same - this is an exciting and varied role and provides an opportunity for you to use your creative flair to really make a difference.

Role Requirements

You will need a passion for the events industry, have a strong track record in sales with a solid background in event delivery and logistics. You are pro-active, hardworking and able to work autonomously, using your initiative. With your strong commercial mind, you are able to identify opportunities for revenue growth and strategically plan to deliver on these opportunities. You demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills with ease. Key strengths of yours are high-level organisation and project management skills, negotiation and influencing ability, resourcefulness and resilience when facing setbacks with a consistently positive outlook.
