West Riding Recruitment are looking for an Accounts and Finance Trainee for our client based in Morley. Our client specialises in the import and wholesale of electrical and automotive consumables and currently has a workforce of around 40 people, with an office team of around 10 people. We have a position available for an ambitious candidate looking to start a career with a well rounded first finance role in rapidly growing group of companies based in Morley and will provide a clear training and progression path to someone who is looking to develop a career in the area. This role is working closely with our clients experienced finance staff and will develop skills in treasury, management accounting, sales and purchase ledger, financial reporting and credit control. The ideal candidate; Strong Communication Skills Enthusiasm to learn new skills and take on new tasks No prior finance skills is required Familiarisation of working in a office environment is beneficial This role is based on site in our client s offices in Morley. The role is working Monday to Friday 08.30am- 4.30pm. This is a permanent, full-time role. The role offers extensive in-house learning and professional qualifications. The ideal candidate should be looking to complete many levels of professional qualifications to further their knowledge and increase their contribution to the team. Main Duties: Posting transactions onto accounts software from bank statements. Applying customer payments to correct statement account. Preparing payments for approval by senior staff. Maintaining nominal ledger balances and proposing journals for approval. Assisting with credit control. Assisting with maintenance of purchase ledger. Assisting with VAT returns and monthly management accounts. Performing bank and other statement account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Assisting with payment of import purchases and foreign exchange purchases. Working with purchasing team to plan timing of orders and payments. Reconciling HMRC documents for import duties and vat. Assisting finance staff with cash flow reviews and planning. Perform other related duties as assigned by the management team from time to time. Education Requirement: 3 A Levels graded A to C Accounting and Maths preferable, but not essential Salary: £20,000 plus training and exam fees Applications must be accompanied with a covering letter.
